    On March 5 and 6, the members of the Scientific Advisory Board once again had the opportunity to gain an impression of the developments at the WasserCluster through personal discussions and informative presentations by all working groups.

    Master's degree successfully completed

    Leonie Haferkemper (AG CARBOCROBE) successfully defended her Master's thesis at the University of Vienna on January 23. The title of her thesis is: "Microbial Activity and Biochemical Particle Composition Along a Fine Particle Size Continuum in Mountain vs Agricultural Streams." Congratulations to her!

    Successful dissertation

    On January 31, 2024, Florian Caillon successfully defended his PhD thesis at the University of Vienna. Title: "Understanding the Dynamics of Dissolved Organic Carbon and Microbial Diversity in Small Headwater Streams." Congratulations!

Research

WasserCluster Lunz pursues basic and applied research on aquatic ecosystems from microscopic to catchment scales. Our scientists conduct studies in international teams to investigate scientific problems of aquatic ecosystems; including effects of global change, significance and magnitude of aquatic-terrestrial interlinkages and aquatic ecosystem management and rehabilitation.

Education

WasserCluster Lunz offers university and postgraduate training at an international level, provides internships and accomplishes research-education cooperation at local and national scales.

Open Day

WasserCluster Lunz organizes an open day for interested visitors every two years. The next one will take place this year on Saturday, August 24, 2024. On the evening before (August 23, 2024) we invite you to a public lecture about our scientific activities.
